Chiranjeevi said the Congress and Telugu Desam parties have institutionalised corruption and the common people lived as ‘second-rate citizens’ during their regimes as their policies benefited only the affluent sections. Congress and TDP were the only parties that ruled the State since independence and when PRP emerged in response to the people’s desire for change, they were waging a malicious propaganda against it apparently due to fear of losing the ensuing electoral battle.
The farmers’ suicides speak volumes of their ineptitude in guaranteeing remunerative prices for their produce and providing quality inputs which could have increased yields.
Irrigation projects were launched with a massive financial outlay but their purpose was not served as huge sums were swindled by contractors and some leaders of Congress party.
A huge number of villages don’t have access to clean drinking water to this day and hundreds of poor people were dying due to avoidable diseases. Little attention was paid to augmenting the infrastructure in government hospitals while corporate hospitals minted money under Arogyasri scheme because of the government’s magnanimity.

The plight of farmers became miserable as fertile lands were usurped in the name of Special Economic Zones and the proposed coastal industrial corridor between Visakhapatnam and Kakinada would be compounding their woes. These projects had a profound impact on the fisher folks who were heavily dependent on the sea for their livelihood. The list of ‘atrocities’ committed by the two main parties (Congress and TDP) goes on.

Day2 - “It isn’t colour TV s and cable connections that people require but the purchasing power to buy them and to pay for cable connections,” said Yuva Rajyam president Pavan Kalyan addressing a public meeting at Annavaram village of Chodavaram Assembly constituency on Thursday.
He tried to impress upon the people that only Praja Rajyam could provide a solution to their long-pending problems that were neglected by both the Congress and Telugu Desam Governments during the last six decades after Independence. Had the Congress and TDP implemented their poll promises, there wouldn’t have been any necessity for Chiranjeevi to float a new party.

Day1 - Notwithstanding the inordinate delay in the arrival of film star and Yuva Rajyam president Pavan Kalyan, scores of people, mostly fisher folk, waited in the hot sun to see and hear him address a public meeting near the Fishing Harbour on Wednesday.

Pavan Kalyan impressed on the need for a change to reduce the present inequalities among the people. The change could be achieved only when the downtrodden sections were given political powerReferring to the Telugu Desam Party, he said its founder N.T. Rama Rao had floated that party with the slogan “Telugu vari atma gauravam” (self-respect of the Telugu people). NTR’ s successors had reduced that ideal to mean ‘self-respect of only a few dominant castes’. The objective of PRP was social justice through empowerment of the poor and lower middle classes. In an obvious reference to the TDP’ s poll promise, he said people should be empowered to stand on their own feet but not reduced to the level of seeking alms. He described Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy as a ‘feudalist’ who was interested only in welfare of his party men and charged him with ignoring the interests of the common man.

Pawan Kalyan's speech was laced with intersting episodes about his trips to Adilabad and Khammam and he spoke in his typical emotional way and urged the people to vote for change. He also reminded the large gathering that YSR and CBN have studied in the same school and are the best of friends and termed the Mahaa Kutami and Kula kutami.

Chiru started his speech by thanking the massive gathering for making the meet sucha huge success and also the volunteers and security and ensuring orderliness in the meet.

He pointed that both the Political parties started talking about SAMAAJIKA NYAYAM only after PRP came into existence and Cong which has released it's list of candidates has only 69 BCs in the entire list.

Kurnool Praja Ankita Yatra of Chiranjeevi

Chiranjeevi travelled 482 km by road and addressed meetings in 13 Assembly segments covering all except Mantralayam before concluding the tour at Yemmiganur on Sunday. The response was overwhelming to his road shows in the upland area of Kodumur, Pathikonda, Aluru and Adoni.

Day 5 - The meetings in Yemmigannur and Adoni were a super success and Chiru himself was clearly overwhelmed by the response. He promised to set up a large scale fruit pulp processing and fruit juice manufacturing factory in the area if PRP was voted to Power.Chiranjeevi made a scathing attack on the Jalayagnam exercise and asked people would perennially drought areas like Aluru and Pathikonda ever get water. At many junctions, the youth blocked the convoy to have a glimpse of the actor. Five persons sustained injuries in the melee and the police resorted to caning at R.S. Rangapuram. Mr. Chiranjeevi himself was seen pleading with the police not to be harsh with the crowd.
He challenged the parties for an open debate over development in the last five decades and criticised the poor state of hospitals and schools in the State.
