The Praja Rajyam has demanded that the State government initiate prompt action to protect farming community which is facing problems despite a bumper rabi crop.
The PR alleged that while millers and the government agencies were refusing to purchase paddy by paying minimum support price to farmers, the government seemed to be in no hurry despite the mounting pressure on farmers. Even as the situation called for immediate and expeditious remedial action, Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy went on a holiday with his family.
A delegation of senior PR leaders led by party’s general secretary Allu Arvind and Political Affairs Committee member P. Upendra called on Governor N.D. Tiwari and submitted a memorandum to him urging him to direct the State to take speedy action on the issue. The Governor, who interacted with the delegation, spoke to senior officials of the Food Corporation of India to get a first hand information about the situation.
Speaking to reporters later, Mr. Upendra expressed concern that millers were not procuring the farmers’ produce on the pretext of absence of storage space while six lakh tonnes of wheat of other States was lying in the godowns. In addition, the warehousing agencies allowed commercial crops like tobacco to be stored in the available space.

Disease hit tribals give a rousing welcome to Chiru
http://www.akhilandhra.com/playvideo-2100.html
MUNCHINGPUT (VISAKHAPATNAM DT.): Tribals mobbed Praja Rajyam president K. Chiranjeevi at anthrax-hit Barda village, in Laxmipuram panchayat, in this mandal, about 190 km from Visakhapatnam, on Wednesday.
Mr. Chiranjeevi expressed concern over the plight of tribals and blamed the ruling party for failing to educate them and provide medicare. “It’s unfortunate that tribals are dying like flies due to malaria, viral fever and other infections,” he bemoaned.
Mr. Chiranjeevi, who was scheduled to fly back to Hyderabad, could not go due to inclement weather. Heavy rain lashed the agency belt making it difficult to fly. Tribal women applied turmeric on his forehead and offered garlands.
Earlier, he visited Lobburu primary health centre and interacted with medical officer G. Janardhanam.

Chiru visits Gandhi Hospital

Speaking to mediapersons after calling on the patients, including children who were admitted to the Gandhi Hospital after drinking contaminated water, he demanded that the government pay an ex gratia to the families of the deceased. Mr. Chiranjeevi went around the paediatric ward and inquired about the health condition of children.
Police had a tough time to control the crowds at the hospital and a stampede-like situation prevailed at the main entrance with hospital staff, mediapersons and attendants jostling for space to speak to him. Police, however, used mild force to ward-off the crowd

Team of doctors visiting Nallamalla tribal areas
PRP is deputing a team of doctors headed by Dr.Mitra to visit the Nallamalla forest areas abutting Srisailam, where Chenchu tribals are dying of Malnutrition.
Chiranjeevi has said that PRP will take care of the medical facilities in the remote tribal areas since the government has failed to provide the basic ameneties to the people.
In a separate press conference in the party office, Senior leader of the Praja Rajyam, K. Vidyadhar Rao on Saturday criticised Chief Miister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy for chilling out at Shimla while farmers in the State were suffering from power problems at the height of the agricultural season.
He said that it was akin to Nero playing the fiddle while Rome was on fire. Crops were drying up and farmers were suffering without a minimum support price for most of the produce. While prices of essential commodities were skyrocketing, Government was still not taking any corrective measures, he said.
Mr. Rao said that post-elections, it was as if Government was on a holiday. “When people suffer from skyrocketing prices of essential commodities and when farmers need minimum support price, it is expected of any Government to come to their rescue. This is not being seen here in this State,” he said. In such a situation, the State would be better off under the Governor’s rule or a regime of all political parties put together.
From nine hours of power a day, it had come down to seven hours and then to five hours only, he said, wondering why the power situation was this bad despite demand coming down .
Referring to the instance of poaching in Balmoor mandal of Mahbubnagar district, he regretted that there was no action on the poachers till Friday evening.

PRP gives financial help to a child's operation
PRP - RangaReddy division has helped a child's parents to the tune of Rs.17,00,000/- on seeing an advertisement from two parents regarding an expensive surgery.
The cost of the operation was about Rs.30,00,000/- but Nagababu negotiated with the hosiptal and brought it down to Rs.17 Lakhs and Shravan and Bandi Ramesh helped raise that money.

Chiru in Tirupathi
The Chandragiri meeting was a super sucess....and Tirupathi roadshow was amzing - People i..e entire families locked thier houses and came out onto the streets to watch and hear Chiranjeevi
http://www.akhilandhra.com/playvideo-1881.html?name=Chiru%20Speech%20from%20Chandragiri
Chiranjeevi said the Congress and Telugu Desam parties have institutionalised corruption and the common people lived as ‘second-rate citizens’ during their regimes as their policies benefited only the affluent sections. Congress and TDP were the only parties that ruled the State since independence and when PRP emerged in response to the people’s desire for change, they were waging a malicious propaganda against it apparently due to fear of losing the ensuing electoral battle.
The farmers’ suicides speak volumes of their ineptitude in guaranteeing remunerative prices for their produce and providing quality inputs which could have increased yields.
Irrigation projects were launched with a massive financial outlay but their purpose was not served as huge sums were swindled by contractors and some leaders of Congress party.
A huge number of villages don’t have access to clean drinking water to this day and hundreds of poor people were dying due to avoidable diseases. Little attention was paid to augmenting the infrastructure in government hospitals while corporate hospitals minted money under Arogyasri scheme because of the government’s magnanimity.
The plight of farmers became miserable as fertile lands were usurped in the name of Special Economic Zones and the proposed coastal industrial corridor between Visakhapatnam and Kakinada would be compounding their woes. These projects had a profound impact on the fisher folks who were heavily dependent on the sea for their livelihood. The list of ‘atrocities’ committed by the two main parties (Congress and TDP) goes on.

The new face of Politics

Thupakula Munemma - A daily wage labourer , belonging to the Yanadhi tribe , no money , no power , no influence has been given the ticket to contest from KOVUR by Chiranjeevi. She was active in the drive against illicit liquor in her village and mobilised women to start a savings group to pool thier hard earned money for the education of thier children. Chiranjeevi noticed her and gave her an opportunity to contest the elections.
She has recieved some funding from NRIs and the rest is being taken care of by the localites who are helping her with food, clothes etc when she goes campaigning

Chiru in Nalgonda dist : Kalyan in Hyderabad
Nalgonda speech
http://www.akhilandhra.com/wnedeshot-19345.html
http://www.akhilandhra.com/focusnews-s-19380-1.html
Mr. Chiranjeevi, who was on a whirlwind election campaign in a helicopter, addressed several public meetings in the district on Tuesday to boost the electoral prospects of the party candidates.
Addressing a public meeting held in Nalgonda on Tuesday, Mr. Chiranjeevi, who arrived more than two hours behind the schedule, demanded that the TDP leaders explain as to how they would mobilise thousands of crores to implement the cash transfer scheme. The TDP has a dubious track record in implementation of its promises.
Training his guns on the Congress, he alleged that the persons at the helm of affairs looted crores of rupees public money under the pretext of development.
The tribal hamlets in the district are plagued with a plethora of problems including fluorosis due to denial of basic amenities like drinking water. “The Praja Rajyam will weed out political corruption and ensure the fruits of development to all”, he asserted.
On separate Telangana, he alleged that the promise made by Congress president Sonia Gandhi in 2004 has remained unfulfilled. The Congress and the Grand Alliance have no sincerity on the statehood issue, he said and asserted that the PRP has demonstrated its commitment by including “Samajika Telangana” in its manifesto.
Kalyan's malkajgiri meeting is over in heavy rain...NO ONE RAN OR MOVED IN THE RAIN - everyone listened in rapt attention and kalyan was also drenched...
he is on his way to Miyapur now...but there is a heavy gale
http://www.akhilandhra.com/wnedeshot-19358.html
Whenever the name was uttered, open grounds at Miyapur junction reverberated with loud sloganeering. Cinematic in every aspect, the Praja Rajyam’s election meeting organised to garner support for Bandi Ramesh, a PR candidate contesting from Serilingampally Assembly constituency, here on Tuesday evening was a Pawan Kalyan show.
Despite rain, people stayed put just for a glimpse of the film star. As soon as he arrived, the youth who till then were following instructions of the volunteers smashed the barricades, forcing the women in the front rows to leave their seats. Fearing a second spell of rain, Mr. Pawan Kalyan rushed through his speech.

“Our rival is the one who is stinking in corruption more and causing more miseries to the common public, that is the Congress”, he said at a media conference at Tadepalligudem before he embarked on his roadshow in West Godavari district. In the same breath, he ruled out the possibility of his party having any truck with the TDP in future.
Referring to the TDP-led Maha Kootami, he asked where was the Grand Alliance when the partners were actively involved in harming the each others’ interests due to lack of consensus on seat-sharing.
He asserted that it was the PRP alone which brought to the centrestage the slogan of social justice by giving the highest number of seats to the Backward Classes.
The mega star turned out to be a big draw all along with huge crowds kept waiting for his arrival for a long time for him on either side of the Kolkatta-Chennai National Highway-5 on the gruelling sunny day.
It was a ‘mega surprise’ for the 10,000-odd inhabitants of Mogaltur, tucked away on the sea coast in Narsapur mandal of West Godavari district, with a midnight visit by its ‘son of the soil’ and actor-turned PR president Chiranjeevi.
Quite away from the din of the elections, he drove down to his birthplace and enjoyed the cool breeze and the rhythm of the sea waves with which he was quite familiar since his childhood days. However, none of the villagers got a glimpse of the mega star as the visit took place when the whole village was asleep
Chiru's promises in WG.
Distribution of the 600 acres of land meant for the Airport at Tadepalligudem (Why does Tadepalli gudem need an Airport)
